On the grounds of the recommendations by the European Association of Cardiology together with the Foundation “Cardiology Academy”, the Bulgarian Red Cross and with the support of the Ministry of Health and the National Health Insurance Fund we implemented a program for prevention of cardiac diseases. The program was aimed at outpatient care doctors and the citizens. In the period between 2000 and 2005 we used to publish the magazine “The Science of Cardiology” with a circulation of 10 000 issues, which included translated articles and articles by Bulgaria’s leading specialists in the field in support of the life-long education of cardiologists.
